As time goes by we will add things to this page.   We want to keep this web site reasonably compact so

this is just one page of links that will hopefully be of interest:

FLIGHT SIMULATORS

The best way to learn to fly is to combine some instruction with lots of practice on the computer. The (free) FMS flight simulator  http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html is highly recommended because the price can't be beat. There is 2 versions version 2.0 beta 7 and alpha 8.5.    The beta 7 is more stable and runs on all XP based machines.  The alpha 8.5 runs on most machines but can be quirky.  Neither will run on Vista without some fiddling.

You will need to get a USB  interface from Ace Hobbies in the North Shore,  65 Birkenhead Ave, Birkenhead.  Call first 480 4634 to make sure they are in stock and take your transmitter to make sure you have the right plugs.

You can download extra models from various sites e.g. http://rcp.web.infoseek.co.jp/fms_aircraft_e.html  or http://gunnerson.homestead.com/files/FMSlinks.htm

There are lots of models but in my view the PA-18y at http://5525.ld.infoseek.co.jp/fmswings/indexsub1/indexsub1.html#1  is very close in behaviour to a classic "trainer"
